ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball completed a comeback and won a five-set match 3-2 on Tuesday evening against Gallaudet University in United East action.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 21 kills.
JP Perdomo tallied 14 kills. Perdomo led five Knights in double-digit digs with 16. Edmonds tallied 15.
Brandon Baskerville added 14 digs while
Mason Fleisher had 12 and
Noah Banaag 10. Banaag handed out 38 assists.
The Bison took the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-19. The Knights opened the third set by building a 9-1 lead. A kill by Edmonds gave Neumann the 25-18 third set win.
Neumann jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the fourth set. Gallaudet answered with the next five points. A kill by
Isaiah Raye-Ryan gave the Knights a 25-16 set four win and force a fifth set.
Tied at two in the fifth set, the Knights scored five straight to take an early 7-2 lead in the deciding set. Neumann led 14-9 when Gallaudet scored three straight points to pull within two, 14-12. Edmonds completed the comeback and win with a kill and a 15-12 fifth set win.
Neumann (11-9, 4-1 United East) will host Lancaster Bible for another United East game on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
