LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their Women's Basketball postseason awards on Tuesday afternoon and Neumann University's
Emily DuPont was selected as the Co-Defensive Player of the Year. She was also named to the Atlantic East All-Conference First Team.
In 26 games, and a conference second-most 33.4 minutes per game, DuPont blocked 46 shots, by far the most in the conference, averaging 1.8 per game, which was also first. She was second in steals with 69, and averaged 2.7 per game, also second. She contributed in a big way offensively as well as the senior put up 16.4 points per game, which was second in the conference. She was sixth in the conference in rebounds per game with 6.8, and third in free throw percentage, sinking 74% from the line.
Back on February 24
th, the Malvern, Pa. native was named the Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Of the 15 weeks of the regular season, Emily was honored by the conference a total of 12 times, being named to the weekly Honor Roll an impressive 11 times. This is her second Atlantic East All-Conference award after being selected to the Second Team last season.
DuPont helped lead the Knights to their second consecutive Atlantic East Finals after a 16-10 overall record, and a 6-4 conference record.
