Women’s Lacrosse Dominates in the Sunshine State

Babson Park, Fla. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team defeated Webber International University on Thursday afternoon by a final score of 15-4.
 
Lindsey Fagan led the Knights' onslaught with four goals and two assists. Alena Catka picked up a hat trick and scooped up a team-high five ground balls. Cassidy Starner added two goals and an assist with Krista Geibler adding two goals. Abbey Fenton got the start in goal, making three saves for the win.
 
It took almost half a quarter for things to heat up but with 7:41 remaining, Geibler scored the game's first goal with the women-up. The Knights would go on to score six more goals over the last five minutes of the quarter. Catka scored twice with Maggie Miller, Geibler, Starner, and Fagan scoring once each during the first for a 7-0 lead.
 
Webber International got their first goal of the game, four minutes into the second but Neumann continued to pour on the offense. Starner scored while down a player with two more goals coming from Fagan, and a free position goal by Tessa Vannello to close the half with an 11-1 edge.
 
Early in the third, the Knights fired two more goals into the cage as Ainsley George scored 43 seconds into the quarter and Catka nailed down another one 1:03 later. The Warriors struck twice over the last 2:34 of the period to get back within 10 heading into the fourth.
 
Fagan grabbed her final goal of the afternoon 49 seconds into the final quarter followed by a Gia Caso goal at the 8:27 mark. Webber International closed out the game with just under five minutes left to play.
 
Neumann (2-3) will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they host Eastern University in another non-conference contest starting at 4:00 PM.
