ASTON, Pa. – The Neuman University women's tennis team defeated Eastern University 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Knights opened the match by taking two-of-three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead.
Sha'xaria Gordon and
Casey McGee took second doubles 6-3.
Kaitlyn Smith and
Molly McGee won third doubles 7-5.
Alura Troilo won her match at first singles, 6-2, 6-4. Gordon battled at second singles, falling 6-4 then winning 7-6 (7-1), 6-3. Smith won 6-2, 6-2 at third doubles.
Kayleigh DellaVecchio won her first set 6-1 and won the tiebreaker 10-3. C. McGee won her match at sixth singles in a superset, 8-6.
Neumann (4-6) heads to Stockton tomorrow for more non-conference action beginning at 4:00 PM.
