ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Tennis team celebrated their lone senior,
Kaitlyn Smith but fell against Marywood University in an Atlantic East Conference match on Monday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.
In doubles action, the first doubles team of
Alura Troilo and
Kayleigh DellaVecchio were beaten in a tough battle, 6-3. The third teaming of Smith and
Juliet Schilling also fell 6-3 as Marywood took the doubles point.
Troilo took her first singles opponent to the limit as she won the first set 6-4 but dropped the following two sets by the same score.
Molly McGee earned the Knights' lone point in fifth singles with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.
Neumann (5-8, 1-2 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday as they close the regular season at Marymount University for a 10:00 AM start.
