ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University Women's Tennis team were defeated by Marymount University on Wednesday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference match by a final score of 5-2.
Kaitlyn Smith and
Juliet Schilling, the third doubles team for the Knights, won their match, 6-4 but it was the Saints who would take the doubles point.
Molly McGee won her fifth singles match, 6-3, 6-3, while
Casey McGee in sixth singles won 6-1, 7-6.
Kayleigh DellaVecchio fell in a tightly contested fourth singles match, dropping the first set 6-4 and forcing a tiebreaker in the second set, falling 7-6. Smith also forced a tiebreaker in her third singles match, dropping the second set, 7-6 after losing the first set 6-3.
Neumann (3-8, 1-3) will be the host of the 2025 Atlantic East Conference tournament. The semifinals will be on Friday, April 25
th with the final on Saturday, April 26
th.
