SALISBURY, Md. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team were handed a 20-2 loss against No. 7 Salisbury University in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
Alena Catka and
Lindsey Fagan had the two goals for the Knights as Fagan had four shots on goal, as well as eight draw controls, and Catka had three shots on goal.
Maggie Miller had three ground balls and both
Krista Geibler and
Molly Schmeltzer each caused two turnovers.
Salisbury scored the only four goals of the first quarter and the first three of the second for a 7-0 lead. With 11:26 left in the half, Catka struck on an unassisted goal. After two more Sea Gulls goals, Fagan picked up her goal at the 4:22 mark. At the half, Neumann faced a 12-2 deficit. It was 14-2 after three before Salisbury scored six in the fourth.
Neumann (5-7) will start their Atlantic East Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon as they host Immaculata University for senior day. The game is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
