Women’s Lacrosse Dominates Immaculata

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team celebrated their seniors by taking down Immaculata University in their Atlantic East Conference opener on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 17-2.
 
Alena Catka scored three goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist. Lindsey Fagan matched Catka with three goals and one assist. Krista Geibler contributed two goals and two assists, Tessa Vannello added two goals while Cassidy Starner recorded two goals and one assist.
 
Neumann started the first quarter strong with Fagan scoring the opening goal just 14 seconds into play, setting the tone. Catka and Fagan each added multiple goals, with Catka securing two consecutive goals within a minute, contributing to the Knights' early 5-0 lead. Cionni Warrington, Starner, Geibler, and Leia DiNuova all added to the scoreboard, resulting in an 11-0 advantage at the end of the quarter.
 
The second quarter saw a strong performance from the Knights, with Vannello scoring her first goal at 10:09, assisted by Nicki Floyd, and later adding another goal at the 1:10 mark. Kenna Sanders also found the back of the net with an assist from Adriana O'Heron at 3:41. Despite a goal from the visiting team at 5:10, the Knights maintained control with Vannello successfully securing two draw controls during the quarter, helping them to a 14-2 halftime edge
 
The third quarter began with Neumann's Starner scoring a goal at 12:05, assisted by Warrington. Geibler capped the quarter with a goal at 2:25, assisted by Catka, for a 16-2 lead heading into the final quarter. In the fourth, Ainsley George scored a goal at 11:49 to close out the game.
 
Neumann (6-7, 1-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday night when they visit Marymount University in another conference battle. It's scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
