LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a 16-6- decision at Cairn University on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
Josh Finger hit a home run and went 3-for-3 while scoring two runs. Four Knights had two hits each.
Gatlin Hovenstine started the game on the mound and went 3+ innings in the loss.
Vic Mejia and
Jake Kennealy pitched out of the pen for Neumann.
The Knights scored their runs in the first three innings.
Anthony Rakotz led off the game by reaching on an error and scored on a single by
Thomas Carroll. In the second inning,
AJ Nardo doubled to knock in
Donovan Brooks and Finger. Nardo then scored on a triple by Carroll.
Finger hit his home run in the third inning.
Blake Decker then doubled and scored on a single by Brooks for Neumann's six runs. The teams were knotted at six after three innings.
Neumann (23-9) heads to Keystone tomorrow for a single game beginning at 3:30 PM.
