GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their Academic All-District selections for Baseball on Tuesday afternoon and Neumann University had three players make the grade.
Joe Boccio,
Zach Mullins, and
Jack Valentine earned Academic All-District distinction.
Boccio was a two-time Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week, hitting .316 in 38 games, all starts. He hit five home runs, 10 doubles, 31 runs batted in, and scored 32 runs. He also had an improved defensive season, only picking up two errors with a fielding percentage of .981.
Mullins made nine appearances on the mound, all starts. He was 2-2 with an earned run average of 3.47. In 49.1 innings, he allowed 19 earned runs on 47 hits and 17 walks while striking out 20. On April 14
th, the senior was named the Atlantic East Conference Pitcher of the Week and he was on the all-conference Second team. This is his second CSC Academic All-District selection.
Valentine made 10 appearances on the mound with eight starts, accruing a record of 2-1 with an ERA of 4.62. In 37 innings, he allowed 19 earned runs on 31 hits and 20 walks while fanning 28. Back on March 17
th, he was named to the Atlantic East Conference weekly Honor Roll.
