Four Knights Nab Atlantic East Weekly Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and four Neumann University Athletes were among the recognized. Men's Soccer's AJ Henry was named the Defensive Player of the Week while his teammate, Jordan Illian, earned Honor Roll distinction. Field Hockey's Cadence Conti and Women's Soccer's Anna Poehlmann also picked up Honor Roll awards.
 
Henry went 1-0-1 in goal for Neumann. In their 3-0 win over Widener, the senior made five saves for the shutout. In the 2-2 tie against Muhlenberg, Henry made six saves, including a few highlight reel diving stops.
 
Illian scored two goals in the Knights' two games this week. Against Widener, the junior scored the second goal of the game in the 60th minute. He followed by scoring the game-tying goal in the matchup against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Illian scored in the 75th minute to preserve the result against the regionally ranked Mules. This is his second weekly award after being named player of the week on September 2nd.
 
Conti scored three goals in a 1-1 week for the Neumann Field Hockey team. In the 3-2 overtime win over Albright, the junior tied the game at two in the 56th minute, converting a penalty stroke. She followed on Saturday with a pair of goals in the 4-2 battle against Hood College. Conti scored Neumann's first goal for Neumann on a penalty stroke just before halftime and notched her second goal in the 48th minute. This is her second weekly Honor Roll selection of the season.
 
Poehlmann tallied two goals, one game-winner, and an assist in a 2-1 week for Neumann Women's Soccer. The Knights opened the week with a 2-0 win over Wilson. The senior scored in the 77th minute to open the scoring. Neumann then defeated Albright 4-3. Poehlmann handed out an assist in the 52nd minute to tie the game at two. The senior then scored in the 62nd minute for a 3-2 Knights lead. Poehlmann finished the week with 15 shots, nine going on goal. This is the second honor roll pick of her career.
