HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced the first weekly awards of the 2025-2026 academic year, and three Neumann University athletes were among the honorees. The Knights swept the Men's Soccer awards as
Jordan Illian was named Player of the Week, and
Dominic Petruzzelli was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Cadence Conti earned weekly Honor Roll distinction.
Illian a strong start to his Neumann University career, picking up a goal and an assist as the Knights opened the season 1-1. The junior finished with 11 shots, four coming on goal. In a 2-1 win over Lycoming, Illian assisted on the opening goal of the game. He then scored the game-winning goal with just 45 seconds remaining in the contest.
Petruzzelli quarterbacked the Knights defense over opening weekend. Along with
Carter Gorczyca,
Jason DiFilippo and 'keeper
Carson Metzger, Neumann allowed 19 shots overall and just five on net over the season's first 180 minutes. In the win over Lycoming, the Warriors had just two shots on net. The next day, a 2-0 loss to Gettysburg, the Knights held the Bullets to just three shots on net.
Conti scored a hat trick as Neumann opened the season 1-1. The junior opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the first game. She followed with two goals late in the fourth quarter in the 5-0 win to earn the second hat trick of her collegiate career. This is the second time she has been named to the conference's weekly Honor Roll.
