REISTERTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University women's hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision at Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) contest.
The Mustangs got on the board first with two goals in a three-minute span in the first period.
Kaila Booth put the Knights on the board at the 11:21 mark.
Charlotte Labre and
Kenna Sanders drew the assists and the teams went into the first intermission with a 2-1 score.
Labre tied the game at two six minutes into the second period.
Valerie Wheeler had the assist. Less than a minute later, Stevenson found the back of the net to take back the lead.
The Knights put pressure on in the third period but could not tally the equalizer. Neumann put five shots on net while on the power play in the third.
Gia Santorello led the Knights with five shots. The senior also blocked five shots. Sanders and Booth each added four shots.
Noelle Woodard made 46 saves in net, including 23 in the second period.
Neumann (5-9-0, 3-7-0) will be home next weekend to host Wilkes for a pair of MAC games. Friday's action gets underway at 6:00 PM.
