ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball team battled their Atlantic East Conference rivals, Marymount University on Wednesday night and dropped a heartbreaking but thrilling 58-57 game.

Tonight's matchup lived up to its billing as the top two teams from last season met for the first time this year. The Knights got off to a solid start over the first six minutes, taking a lead of 9-5. The Saints followed with a 12-6 run over the next 4:40 for a 17-15 lead. They continued to control play as a 9-2 run gave them a seven-point edge. With 93 seconds left in the half, Neumann scored the last six points, pulling within one at the break.

Although the Knights took the lead early in the second, the Saints rattled off eight of the next 11 points to lead by four with just under 16 minutes left. Over the next 3:33, Neumann dominated with an 11-point run to take temporary command of the game, leading 45-38. Both teams traded buckets over the next four minutes before Neumann scored six in a row for their largest lead of the game with 3:15 left. Marymount picked up an 8-2 run to trail by two with nine seconds left before they hit a three as time expired to steal the win.
