ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell to Hood College 2-1 in overtime on Friday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action.
Regulation featured two power play goals, one for each team. Hood opened the scoring at the 7:26 mark of the first period.
The Knights tied the game at one with their own power play goal 4:16 into the second period.
Charlotte Labre passed the puck to
Gia Santorello. Santorello then passed the puck to
Kaila Booth at the side of the net. Booth had an empty net and didn't miss to tie the game at one.
With 54.6 second left in the 3-on-3 overtime, the Blazers were able to score the winning goal from the side of the net.
Noelle Woodard made 39 saved in net. Booth and
Brooke Markley each blocked four shots.
Chloe Ballew led the Knights with five shots on net.
Neumann (5-12-0, 3-10-0 MAC) and Hood will face-off again tomorrow afternoon. Prior to the 2:00 PM start, the Knights will honor this years senior class.
