ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell late to Arcadia University, 3-1, on Friday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action.
After a scoreless first period, Arcadia found the back of the net 1:30 into the second period. Less than a minute later,
Paige Russell grabbed the rebound and scored to tie the game at one.
Chloe Ballew drew the assist on the goal as she had the shot in which Russell grabbed the rebound.
As the game looked to be headed to overtime, Arcadia capitalized with 3:39 left in regulation to take a 2-1 lead. Arcadia added an empty net power play goal in the final minute for the 3-1 final.
Neumann held Arcadia off the board on the first four power plays of the game.
Brook Adams made 54 saves in net.
Marissa Rumsey blocked four shots.
Neumann (5-14-0, 3-12-0 MAC) heads to Alvernia tomorrow afternoon for more conference action beginning at 4:00 PM.
