READING, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss against Alvernia University in a Saturday afternoon Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) match-up.
After a scoreless first period, Alvernia got on the board at the 6:52 mark of the second. Six minutes later, they struck again and then made it 3-0 with 4:45 left in the period. Midway through the third, the Golden Wolves added a fourth goal. With 2:46 left in regulation,
Kaila Booth notched her fifth goal of the season with assists going to
Charlotte Labre and
Sammie Haun, closing out the day's offense.
Kenna Sanders led the Knights with four shots on goal. Booth added three of her own.
Brooke Markley led defensively with three blocked shots.
Noelle Woodard made 42 saves to keep Neumann in the game.
Neumann (5-15, 3-13 MAC) will be back in action on Friday afternoon when they visit Wilkes University for a 2:00 PM start.
