REISTERTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team topped Stevenson University 6-2 on Friday evening in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action.
 
Harper Oakes scored two goals and added an assist on five shots. Sammie Haun tallied a goal and handed out two assists on four shots. Gia Santorello scored a goal, blocked three shots and put five shots on net. Noelle Woodard made 49 saves in net, including 20 in the third period.
 
As time was winding down in the first period, Charlotte Labre scored with 19 seconds left off a pass from Kaila Booth. Santorello found the back of the net 13 seconds later, off an assist from Haun, for a 2-0 lead for the Knights after one period of play.
 
The Mustangs cut the Knights lead in half midway through the second period. Chloe Ballew put Neumann back up by two with a power play goal at the 14:41 mark of the second. Oakes tallied the assist and the Knights took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
 
Oakes scored her first goal of the game midway through the third period off an assist from Haun. Stevenson tallied its second goal at the 15:06 mark. With the Mustangs goalie pulled, Oakes scored her second goal 47 seconds later for a 5-2 score. Haun scored her goal with 2:50 on the clock, also with the goal pulled, for the 6-2 final.
 
Neumann (5-8-0, 3-6-0 MAC) and Stevenson will meet again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3:00 PM.
