MADISON, N.J. – The Neumann University Men's Volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision against Drew University in a non-conference match on Thursday night.
Drew got things started with a 7-1 run. Neumann fought back for the next three points, but another 7-1 run made it a 14-5 set. The Rangers maintained their nine-point edge and with the score at 19-11, they scored six of the last eight points.
In the second set, the Knights trailed 5-4 when Drew went on a five-point run. Neumann got back within five at 15-10 but a 10-1 run ended their hopes, and they trailed by two sets. Despite the two-set deficit, the Knights got off to a good start in the third as they went ahead 6-5. The Rangers responded with a 7-1 run to take a 12-7 lead. A 6-2 run got Neumann back within one, but an 11-5 stretched sealed the set and the match.
Trey Edmonds led with 10 kills and seven digs.
Arian Santos had 13 assists, and
Christian DeMarco had nine digs.
Neumann (1-5) will try to get back into the win column on Wednesday when they visit Wilkes University for a 7:00 PM start.
