HERSHEY, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision on Friday afternoon in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) match-up against Lebanon Valley College.
The Knights played the Flying Dutchwomen, stride-for-stride throughout the first period but with 50 seconds left, Neumann found themselves trailing 1-0. With 12:25 left in the second, Lebanon Valley had a 2-on-1 tight to the goal. The pass was made across the crease, but
Brook Adams made a brilliant pad save to keep it 1-0. Just a minute later, the Flying Dutchwomen were able to double their lead on a break into the zone. They made it a three-goal edge on a deflection during the power play with 10:59 left in the period and added one more, late in the third.
Sammie Haun led the offensive effort with three shots on goal.
Kaila Booth and
Brooke Markley had two each. Markley blocked three shots with
Gia Santorello leading the Knights with four blocks. Adams was sharp throughout the game, making a total of 46 saves.
Neumann (6-17, 4-15 MAC) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they visit Hood College for a 3:45 PM start.
