CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Widener University on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-23.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 18 kills and seven digs.
John Soeffing notched eight kills.
Noah Banaag handed out 23 assists and eight digs.
Christian DeMarco tallied eight digs.
The Knights stayed close to begin the second set and kept within three until the Pride scored five of six to extend their lead. At set point, Neumann was able to hold off for two points for the 25-19 set two score.
The Knights took a couple leads throughout the third set went wen up 17-15 on a kill by Edmonds. The Pride was able to score the next four points to take a 19-17 edge. Looking set and match point, Neumann scored three straight points, including two kills by Soeffing, to pull to 24-23. A Pride kill sealed the 25-23 set and 3-0 match win.
Neuman (1-7) opens United East action next Wednesday when it travels to Cairn. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
