WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Track & Field team began the 2026 Outdoor campaign with a two-day meet, the Purple and Gold Opener, hosted by West Chester University.
The action started on Friday afternoon as
Alli Siravo competed in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 31.62 meters, breaking her own program record from last year.
Ingrid Suarez-Ramirez raced in the 5000-meter distance for a time of 24:42.93.
On Saturday, in the 200,
Gianna Perez got a personal-best time of 28.95 seconds.
Neshaya Overton had a time of 30.6 and Leilia Davis had a 31.56. In the 400, Perez and Overton were the only two Knights racing with times of 1:10.89 and 1:11.34, respectively.
Ciana Rosado came in fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time if 1:18.97, and right behind her was
Val Castillo at 1:22.6. Castillo again battled in the 1500-meter and led all Neumann runners with a time of 6:04.02. Suarez-Ramirez was in her shadow at 6:05.07, and
Katie Baier finished in 6:13.53. The four-some of Rosado, Castillo, Perez, and Baier competed in the 4x400 relay and finished in 5:01.79.
In the women's throwing events,
Kyleigh Joniec chucked the javelin a distance of 29.12 meters. In the shot put, Siravo had a distance of 9.25 meters, and Savanah Kirk went for 6.39 meters.
On the men's side,
Jamar Davis led all Neumann runners in the 200 with a time of 23.79 seconds.
Ty Billingslea and
Siede Washington followed with times of 25.97 and 26.91. In the 400,
Ethan John finished 10
th with a time of 52.5. Davis was next at 54.38 seconds with
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs right behind at 54.59.
Olufeyisara Olufehinti earned a personal best time of 59.02. Billingslea and
Tobey Ekhator rounded things out with times of 1:00.58 and 1:14.28.
The Javelin Throw was the only throwing event featuring Neumann athletes as
Isaac Rose threw for 26.06 meters. Ekhator threw for 17.65 meters.
Neumann will be back in action next Friday and Saturday for the Danny Curran Invite, hosted by Widener University in Chester, Pa.
