NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced their All-Sportsmanship Awards for the 2025-2026 Winter season and two Neumann University Student Athletes were recognized, as Women's Hockey's
Gia Santorello, and Men's Hockey's
Zack Smith were honored.
Santorello earns this distinction for the second consecutive season. She was earlier named to the MAC All-Conference Second team. The senior finished the campaign with seven goals and nine points for 16 points. In the 23 games, she only accrued two penalties for four penalty minutes.
Smith was the overtime hero in the MAC Championship game against Stevenson University and back on November 11
th, was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week. His 14 goals was fourth in the conference and he added 10 assists for 24 points. Five of his goals came on the power play and two were game winners. In 28 games, he only had 10 penalty minutes.
The MAC All-Sportsmanship Teams recognize student athletes who exemplify great character and display exceptional sportsmanship both on and off the field. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity, and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents. They are humble and hold themselves with pride, competing at the same level of intensity no matter who the competition is, or outcome of the contest. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches and student-athletes from their respective teams.
