MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win at Saint Elizabeth University on Wednesday evening in United East Conference action.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with 25 kills and hit .513.
Isaiah Thomas added 11 kills.
John Soeffing had three block solos, nine kills and hit .438.
Arian Santos tallied 12 digs.
Noah Banaag handed out 41 assists.
Thomas started the match with a service ace and the teams went back and forth throughout the first set. With the Eagles leading 24-22, the Knights had kills from Banaag and
Aaron Williams to tie the set at 24. Neumann took set one 26-24 on two attack errors by Saint Elizabeth.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in set two. Saint Elizabeth started to pull away and took set two 25-19 to tie the match at one.
The Knights opened set three with two kills by Edmonds. Neumann slowed started to pull away during the set and won set three 25-20 as Edmonds tallied two more kills for the win.
Saint Elizabeth held a 5-4 edge in set four when Neumann scored seven straight points for an 11-5 advantage. After a service error, the Knights scored six more points to take a 17-6 lead. Soeffing's third block of the match came on the final point of the match as Neumann took set four 25-16 and the match 3-1.
Neumann (4-12, 2-4 United East) hosts Lancaster Bible for more conference action on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM.
