Women’s Lacrosse Slowed by Mustangs

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team was slowed by Stevenson University 16-5 on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
 
Alena Catka led the Knights with three goals, one assist and 11 draw controls. Adriana O'Heron and Maggie Miller also scored for Neumann. Sarah Kiraly made six saves in net.

Miller caused three turnovers to surpass the 100 career caused turnover mark!
 
The Knights started quickly as Catka won the opening draw and took the ball down the field and scored just 10 seconds into the game. The Mustangs answered with the next five goals. Catka scored her second goal of the game to wrap up the scoring in the first quarter and a 5-2 score.
 
Stevenson scored four goals in the second quarter and took a 9-2 lead into halftime.
 
Miller scored her goal midway through the third quarter. O'Heron tallied her goal to wrap up the scoring in the third quarter. The Mustangs held a 13-4 lead heading into the final quarter. Catka scored her third goal of the game midway through the fourth quarter. Stevenson scored the final goal of the game for the 16-5 final.
 
Neumann (2-6) opens Atlantic East action on Saturday when it hosts Marymount University beginning at 2:30 PM.
