CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University Track & Field teams took the short trip across the county to Widener University for their second meet of the spring season, hoping to improve results from last week, and challenge some of the best throughout the region.
In the 100-meter Men's race,
Ethan John led all Neumann runners and was 10
th among Division III competitors with a time of 11.26 seconds.
Olufeyisara Olufehinti finished with a personal best time of 12.25.
Ty Billingslea and
Siede Washington went for times of 12.41 and 13.29, respectively, with Richard McClay earning a time of 13.87.
John earned another top-10 finish in the 200 with a time of 22.45.
Jamar Davis had a personal best of 23.18, and
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs was right behind with 23.57.
Jahmeen Ross finished in 25 seconds with Billingslea earning a personal-best 25.73 seconds. Washington closed the Knights participation with a time of 27.31.
Davis had another personal best in the 400 with a time of 53.67 with Ross finishing in 58.67. The combination of Harrison-Fobbs, John, Davis, and Ross finished seventh in the 4x100, and third among Division III teams with a time of 45.22 seconds. The 4x400 team of John, Davis, Harrison-Fobbs, and Billingslea ended in 3:46.32.
On the women's side,
Ingrid Suarez-Ramirez, on Friday night competed in the 5000-meter race and finished in a personal-best time of 23:18.29. In the 100, two Neumann athletes earned personal-bests with
Gianna Perez and
Neshaya Overton getting times of 13.97 and 14.72.
Leilia Dennis was right between with a time of 14.71.
In the 200, Perez led the Knights with a time of 28.99. Overton had a personal-best of 29.89 and Dennis getting her best time at 30.82.
Val Castillo had a personal-best showing in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:21.97. Kaitie Baier was the lone Knight in the 800 with a time of 2:55.87.
Suarez-Ramirez, Baier, and Castillo finished in three consecutive slots in the 1500-meter race with times of 6:11.41, 6:14.34, 6:15.89. Finally,
Kyleigh Joniec had a top throw of 27.12 meters in the Javelin.
Neumann will be back in action on Saturday for the Ursinus Springfest in Collegeville, Pa.
