Men’s Volleyball to Face Cairn in United East First Round

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Volleyball will once again compete in the United East Conference tournament, qualifying for a postseason for the second straight season. They will host Cairn University in the First Round on Thursday night at 7:00 PM.
 
The Knights finished the conference season with a record of 3-5 and earned the sixth seed on the last day of the season, thanks to a 3-0 win over Valley Forge on Monday night. They will visit Cairn University in the First Round who earned the third seed with a conference record of 5-3.
 
Neumann and Cairn met twice in the regular season. On February 10th, Cairn took the non-conference match by a 3-1 margin. In their conference meeting, on February 25th, again the Highlander came away with the victory, this time, 3-0. In the conference match, Trey Edmonds led with 15 kills and two service aces. John Soeffing blocked three attacks, Noah Banaag had 21 assists, and both Edmonds and Christian DeMarco had six digs each.
 
Overall, Edmonds has 216 kills with Isaiah Thomas contributing 111. Edmonds also has 21 aces to Thomas' 14. Banaag is the primary passer with 365 assists. On the defensive side, Edmonds has 127 digs with Arian Santos nabbing 89 digs. Soeffing leads in blocks with 18 solos and 25 assists for 43 total.
 
In the other First round match, No. 4 Immaculata University will host No. 5 Gallaudet University. The highest seed that survives the first round will take on No. 2 Wilson College and the lowest survivors will visit Lancaster Bible College in the semifinals on April 8th with the championship match, at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, April 11th.
