Women’s Flag Football Ready to Start Atlantic East Tournament

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Flag Football team has qualified for the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Tournament and will host Holy Family University this Tuesday in a Play-In game.
 
Neumann finished the season with a 9-7 record in conference play, earning them the fourth seed in the tournament. Holy Family, the number five seed, had a record of 8-8. Holy Family making their Atlantic East tournament debut, and Neumann returns after playing in the inaugural tournament in 2024.
 
During the regular season, the Knights won both meetings. On March 14th, the Knights squeaked by with a 20-19 overtime victory. The April 2nd battle, played at Eastern University, was a 39-0 Knights win.
 
Ava Valente has been the Knights' top passer this season with 1,804 yards, averaging 150 per game, and 29 touchdowns. She also has been the top rusher with 838 yards on 141 carries. An average of 5.1 yards per run, adding four rushing touchdowns.
 
She's not alone as Kayla Maisch has passed for 246 yards with four touchdowns. Maisch is also the second leading rusher with 144 yards and two touchdowns, providing a 1-2 offensive punch for Neumann. Shannon Duffy has been the recipient of most of those passes with 66 catches for 671 yards and 10 touchdowns.
 
Defensively, Ariel Noble has the most tackles with 74. Marie Berry followed close behind with 57 and Ya'Nayshia Thomas had 56. Sam Knight was formidable in the secondary with five interceptions as Thomas had four and Berry had three.
 
In the other play-in game, No.3 Immaculata will host No.6 Penn State Schuylkill. No. 1 Eastern and No. 2 Marymount earned byes directly into the semifinals. In the semifinal, Eastern will take on the lowest-surviving seed and Marymount gets the highest seed. The two semi-final winners will meet for the championship. The entire final four will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Eastern University.
