ASTON, Pa.- The Neumann women's volleyball team lost 3-1 match that featured DeSales University on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights were looking to run the gamut winning all four matches this weekend. It would have been ambitious but certainly achievable. The only things the Knights missed, was taken advantage of opportunities that could have swung the balance the other way. Every dog has its day and DeSales walks away as a worthy, but fortunate opponent.
The first match went to DeSales 25-18, Neumann took the second game 25-21. It was the third match that Neumann downshifted and lost 25-12. It was a match that wished they had back, but the damage had been done. The fourth set saw the Knights play for pride and came two points short of victory.
“There is really nothing negative about the performance, our girls kept their heads in the game and gave 100% effort. We feel the experience will only make us better and stronger, as the season progresses,” said Coach Jespersen.
The support for the volleyball team was fantastic all weekend. The Knights are off to a promising start, as they have an arsenal of weapons to go to this season. The Knights not only play an eye catching attacking style, but appear to be defensively sound.
Great weekend to the women's volleyball team! The Knights will host Baptist Bible College Saturday September 24th at 11 am.
