ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team enters the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs as the No. 2 seed for the 2017 Tournament.
In the first game, the Knights defeated No. 3 seeded Immaculata 2-1.
Becky Guinto broke the scoreless game with a two-run double in the fifth inning.
Jen Sieminski struck out 10 and allowed just three hits. In the other game, Cabrini, the No. 4 seed, defeated No. 1 seeded Marywood.
The tournament will now move to Marywood on Saturday and Sunday. Marywood and Immaculata will face-off in an elimination game on Saturday at 12:00 PM. Neumann and Cabrini will play at 2:00 PM for a chance to move onto the championship game on Sunday. The two teams with one loss will play at 4:00 PM on Saturday. The winner will move onto Sunday.

No. 1 Marywood (19-15)
The Knights dropped both games to the Pacers this season.
Grace Sperrazza had three hits and knocked in three runs in the first game, where Neumann fell 12-9.
Jackie Schneider and
Julia Cox each had a double and two RBI.
No. 3 Immaculata (23-25)
Neumann took both games during the regular season against the Mighty Macs.
Jen Sieminski and
Haley Broomell each picked up wins in the circle by 4-1 and 10-5 scores, respectively. The Knights defeated Immaculata in a CSAC tournament game on Thursday to stay in the winner's bracket.
No. 4 Cabrini (19-21)
Neumann won both games against Cabrini during the regular season, by scores of 5-3 and 4-3. The Knights and Cavaliers wrapped up the regular season against one another. Sieminski and Broomell again picked up the wins.
Kara Grogan had a two-run single in the first game and a two-run homerun in game two.

Neumann (25-13) is being led by
Jackie Schneider,
Becky Guinto and
Julia Cox at the plate. Schneider leads the team in hits with 55, homeruns with six and RBI with 46. Guinto is right behind Schneider with 53. The senior leads the team with 17 doubles and has knocked in 39 while scoring a team-high 44 runs. Cox has 46 hits and has knocked in 43 runs.
Haley Broomell and
Jen Sieminski have led the Knights in the circle this season. Broomell has thrown a perfect game and a no-hitter in CSAC action. In 73.1 innings, the senior has struck out 76 and has a 2.67 ERA. Sieminski has thrown 85.1 innings and struck out 87 with an ERA of 2.71.
