ASTON, PA – Neumann University Director of Athletics and Recreation,
Chuck Sack, is excited to announce the hiring of
Rosie Kays as the new Women's Soccer Coach at Neumann University.
"Rosie's connections to our Franciscan values are incredibly strong", said Sack. "Her hard work to grow her knowledge and leadership capacity were evident throughout our search. We heard and felt these themes in her positive, constructive and competitive vision she laid out for our women's soccer program. Making it more special for our community is the opportunity welcome her back in this leadership role."
Kays comes to Neumann fresh off a four-year stint as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at SUNY-Cobleskill, where she recruited over 60 student-athletes to help turn around the program. In her time as coach, three of her players were named to the all-conference team, while five earned student leadership awards and one was named the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. In addition to coaching at Cobleskill, Kays also aided the athletic department there as a Student-Athlete Affairs Administrator, Summer Camp Coordinator and Sport and Exercise Department Wellness Instructor.
"I want to thank Dr. Domes,
Chuck Sack and all of the members of the search committee for their time and this opportunity", said Kays. "I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead the program that I was a part of and be a member of the Neumann University community once again! I am excited to build upon the foundation that Coach Sciocchetti laid and bring the women's soccer program to new heights!"
Prior to her time at Cobleskill, Kays plied her trade here at Neumann as an assistant coach on the women's soccer team from 2015 to 2017. In that role, she was instrumental in recruiting by way of traveling to recruiting showcases and coordinating campus visits with prospective student-athletes. She also helped coordinate ID camps and clinics on campus, while assisting in daily practices.
Kays also earned her stripes at the Division I level, as she was the Director of Soccer Operations at Villanova University during the 2016 season. In that position, she managed all aspects of the team's social media presence, while also supporting the coaching staff with scouting reports, campus tours and input on player performance.
In addition to her vast coaching experience, Kays was a standout performer for the Knights during her four-year career at Neumann from 2010-2013, earning all-academic honors in all four seasons. She was also named as both a CSAC and NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in the Spring of 2014.
