Meet the Seniors – Women’s Volleyball

Meet the Seniors – Women's Volleyball

Ahead of women's volleyball senior day, let's meet this year's senior class: Delaney Jack and Austin Raymer!

Delaney Jack – Senior from Mertztown, Pa.

Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing since roughly around 5th grade. I started with club volleyball, then gave up soccer to play volleyball for my school! I played for my school from eighth grade to my senior year of college. So I played volleyball for roughly 12 years!

Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best memory playing the sport before Neumann is getting the chance to meet all these girls from all over and developing friendships!

Q: What is your major and why?
A: My major is Communication and Digital Media. I also have a minor in Film Analysis and Graphic Design. I chose this major because I am super creative and love expressing myself in fun ways. I love being able to design, so finding a major that allows me to do that was perfect.

Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: My dream job after graduating is either being a graphic designer or a social media/ marketing manager for a sports team!

Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: My advice for a student-athlete just starting college is to give yourself grace. There are going to be so many huge changes in your life, and you won't always get a chance to breathe. It is okay! You're doing everything that you can; give yourself grace, you're not a superhero yet!

Austin Raymer – Senior from Purcellville, Va.

Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing volleyball for 12 years!

Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best sports memory before Neumann is probably when we made it to districts my senior year is high school. Although we lost the first round, we played hard and played for each other and really came together as a team. We left everything out on the court, and that experience is something I'll always remember.

Q: What is your major and why?
A: My major is Health Science on the track for Athletic Training because since I have been around sports all my life and watched all of the athletic trainers take amazing care of athletes during their injuries and recovery, I've been inspired to do the same. I want to be part of the process that helps athletes stay healthy, recover quickly, and return to doing what they love.

Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: My dream job after graduating is being an athletic trainer for a big college or working with NFL trainers. I want to work closely with athletes, helping them prevent injuries, recover quickly, and perform at their best.

Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: My advice to student-athletes just starting their collegiate career is to focus on finding a good balance between academics and athletics early on. Time management is key, so stay organized and don't fall behind in your classes. Take care of your body—rest, proper nutrition, and injury prevention are just as important as training. Build strong relationships with your teammates, coaches, and athletic staff because having a good support system makes a big difference. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek help when you need it and remember that progress takes time. Stay patient, stay focused, and enjoy the journey—college athletics is a unique experience that goes by fast, ask coach if you need help. Last but not least HAVE FUN!!
