HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and six Neumann University athletes were recognized. Men's Soccer's
JP Phillip was named the conference's Player of the Week and Field Hockey's
Caley Gee was picked for Defensive Player of the Week. Her teammate was selected for the weekly Honor Roll along with Women's Soccer's
Julianna Hatt, and
Melissa Eddy and
Hannah Strohm from Women's Volleyball.
Phillip scored two goals in a 2-0 conference week for the Men's Soccer team. In the 4-1 win over Immaculata, he broke the 1-1 tie with a goal in the 61st minute. Phillip followed with a goal in the 64th minute against Saint Elizabeth to put the Knights up 4-0 in an eventual 4-1 win as Neuman clinched the No. 1 seed for the postseason.
Gee made eight saves in a 3-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy in Field Hockey's only game of the week. This is her second Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor as she was recognized on September 29
th. She was also named to the weekly Honor Roll on October 20
th.
Sheldrick scored two goals in the win over Gwynedd Mercy. The sophomore scored twice in just over a minute span to put the Knights up 3-0 in the third quarter. The first was on an outside shot from a corner and the other came on a goal mouth scramble.
Hatt scored two goals and tallied six shots, two on net, in a 1-1 Atlantic East week for the Women's Soccer team. The sophomore opened the scoring in the 11th minute in the 6-0 win at Saint Elizabeth. Hatt put the Knights up 4-0 in the 63rd minute on her second shot on net. This is her second weekly Honor Roll selection of the season.
Eddy tallied 40 kills, 45 digs and five service aces in a 1-2 overall week, 1-0 in conference action. In the 3-2 win over Gwynedd Mercy, the sophomore had 17 kills and 19 digs. In the 3-1 loss to King's, she finished with 15 kills and 16 digs. This is her third weekly Honor Roll selection this season.
Strohm had 64 digs, 15 assists and seven service aces this week. The sophomore tallied 14 digs in against Ursinus. In the game against Gwynedd Mercy, Strohm had 34 digs and four service aces, including two service aces to seal the set five win. In the loss to King's, she had 16 digs and three service aces.
