GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University Track & Field teams took part in the 2025 Atlantic East Conference Championships over this weekend, hosted by Gwynedd Mercy University.
The first day of competition was highlighted by a gold medal run by
Jodi Johnson in the 3000-meter steeplechase as he finished in a time of 10:55.52, a full 13 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Kyleigh Joniec also found herself on the podium with a second-place finish in the javelin throw. Her toss of 34.56 meters not only beat her own personal best, but is the best in Neumann program history, surpassing Sophia Parrish in 2021.
Christian Johnson competed in the men's javelin and turned in a personal best of 31.11 meters.
Saturday was also qualifier day in the 100 and 200 meter races. In the women's 200,
Aniyah Holmes qualified second with a time of 26.58 seconds, finishing only 3/100ths of a second behind the leader.
Gianna Manley-Perez also made the finals with a personal best time of 29.18.
Quinaya Barker was just off the pace with a finish of 31.60. In the 100, Holmes was the lone qualifier with a time of 13.27 seconds. Manley-Perez and Barker also competed with times of 14.67 and 15.81, respectively.
On the men's side,
Wyatt Boyer made the finals in both the 100 and 200 with times of 11.80 and 23.04.
Hakeem Hall qualified for the 200 as well with a personal best time of 23.84 seconds. He was just short in the 100 with a time of 12.17.
Olufehinti Olufeyisara turned in two personal best times as he finished the 100 in 12.31 seconds, and the 200 in 25.08.
The competition resumed on Sunday morning and the Knights' first event of the day was the women's 4x100 meter relay. The team of Manley-Perez,
Neshaya Overton,
Sahdahya Addy, and Holmes finished in a time of 55.51 seconds.
On the men's side, J. Johnson earned another championship title as he won the 800-meter with a time of 1:59.62.
Bryan Castro finished in 2:07.84. It was the same two Neumann competitors in the 1500, with J. Johnson earned third place with a personal best time of 4:11.90 and Castro finishing in 4:27.65. Boyer picked up a silver medal in the 200 with a time of 50.2 seconds, his top time in his career, while going 11.46 seconds in the 100-meter final. In the 200, he was third with a time of 22.94. Hall was right there with a time of 25.13. Hall competed as well in the long jump with a leap of 5.86 meters. The team of J. Johnson, Boyer, Hall, and Castro ran the 4x400 relay in 3:38.91.
Christian Johnson completed his day with a shot-put throw of 9.18 meters.
Addy earned top honors in the long jump with a personal best of 5.31 meters. Manley-Perez notched a distance of 4.38. Holmes picked up two third place finishes as she finished the 200 in 27.96, and the 400 in 1:01.11, a personal best. Addy and Barker also had personal bests in the 400 at 1:07 60, and 1:11.67, respectively. Manley-Perez raced the 200 in a time of 29.68 and Holmes finished the 100 in 13.17 seconds, good enough for fourth.
Katie Baier competed in two individual events as she paced the 800 on 2:54.13, and the 1500 in 6:01.58. In the throwing events, Allie Siravo was fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 30.31 meters. She had a personal best of 24.71 in the discus, and in the shot-put, she threw a 9.57. Closing out the day, the combo of Addy, Holmes, Manley-Perez, and Baier was third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:31.31.
Neumann will be back in action on Thursday as they'll compete in the Last Chance Meet in Glassboro, N.J., hosted by Rowan University.
