Atlantic East Honors Five Knights in Weekly Awards

HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and Neumann University had five student athletes recognized. The Knights swept the Field Hockey awards as Gabriella Cappelli was named the Player of the Week and Caley Gee was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Men's Soccer's Zion Atta-Krah was also named Player of the Week while his teammate, AJ Henry was placed on the weekly Honor Roll. Melissa Eddy of Women's Volleyball was also named to the Honor Roll.
 
Cappelli scored three goals in a 2-0 week for the Knights. In the 3-2 win at Arcadia, the sophomore scored the game-winning goal in the 41st minute to break a 2-2 deadlock. She followed with both goals in a 2-1 win over Eastern. She scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute. Cappelli scored her second goal of the game in the 47th minute to break the 1-1 tie.
 
Caley Gee was in the goal for those two Field Hockey wins as they extended their winning streak to four games. The senior made five saves against Arcadia and followed with seven saves on Homecoming Saturday against Eastern.
 
Atta-Krah scored two goals in a 2-0 week for the Men's Soccer team. The sophomore put up 11 overall shots, five on net. Atta-Krah scored two goals in a 5-1 win over Cairn to open the week. He scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute. His second goal came in the 54th minute for a 3-0 lead. Atta-Krah finished the game with four shots, three on net and two going in. In a 1-0 win over Eastern to wrap up the week, the sophomore notched seven shots, two going on net. This is the second Player of the Week of his career.
 
Henry was in goal for both games and did not allow a goal for the Knights. At Cairn, the senior played the first 70 minutes and did not face a shot. Henry followed with shutout win over Eastern while he made five saves. This is his second weekly award after being named Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago.
 
Eddy had 25 digs and 16 kills in a 1-1 week for the Women's Volleyball team. They were 0-1 in conference action. In the 3-0 win at Bryn Mawr, the sophomore had 17 digs, six kills, three service aces and two solo blocks. In the 3-1 loss at Saint Elizabeth, Eddy had 10 kills, nine digs and five service aces. This is her sixth career weekly award and first of 2025.
