Welcome to Meet the Captains, the Women's Lacrosse Edition. Let's learn more about the 2026 captains:
Maggie Miller and
Krista Geibler.
Maggie Miller – Senior Defense / Midfield from Philadelphia, Pa.
Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing lacrosse since the 3rd grade. I started on my local hometown team, then joined LoLax, which later became Headstrong. My friends and I created a team for our grade school, since we loved the sport so much.
Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best memory before Neumann, would be playing on club against the older girls. We were 10 and under, given pool noodles to do whatever we could to stop the 16-18 year old girls. No rules, just stop the older girls!
Q: What does it mean to you to be named Captain?
A: To be named captain is a privilege. It is not easy, because that means people look up to you, whether that is on the field and/or off the field. For me, I want to be the best person and player to help grow the team and the bond we have with each other.
Q: What is your major and why?
A: My Major is Occupational Therapy. I will be attending Grad School for the next 2-3 years for my Master's and maybe Doctorate. I want to help those who have suffered an injury, learn how to cope and rediscover the things they once loved.
Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: My dream job is a Travel Pediatric OT.
Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: No Regrets. Do what makes you happy. Play the sport you love, the major you want, the minor you may want too. What you do now applies to your future. Make new friends, you might lose some on the way but the sport and the major you are in will gain you new friends, colleagues, and more. You have 4 years, if not more, sometimes less. Make the best out of everyday.
Krista Geibler – Senior Attack / Midfield from Morton, Pa.
Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing lacrosse since the 3rd or 4th grade.
Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best memory of playing lacrosse before coming to Neumann would probably be playing club lacrosse for Philly Blast which gave me the unique opportunity to be on a team with highly skilled girls from all over the area. It was fun to travel all over to play in fall and summer tournaments, but it was also really cool to play against club teammates during our high school seasons.
Q: What does it mean to you to be named Captain?
A: For me personally, being named captain was an honor for me. I transferred in earlier that year, so it was a bit of a surprise to be chosen as captain my junior year. It meant a lot to know that my teammates trusted and respected me enough to vote for me in that leadership role, especially since we had only known each other for a short time.
Q: What is your major and why?
A: My major is Elementary Education (PREK-4) and Special Education (PREK-12). I have always wanted to be a teacher.
Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: To teach! I can't wait to have my own classroom one day!
Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: Always do your best and work hard, whether that's on the field, court, classroom, at work, etc. There will be challenging moments for sure, but it's all about how you adapt and respond to those challenges, and that is a skill you will carry with you long after your time as a student athlete.
Although being a student athlete is challenging, it is also so fun and rewarding! I have ended up with some of the best mentors, friends, and experiences, all from being a student athlete.
