ASTON, Pa. – Swarthmore College scored the winning goal with under two minutes left in the second half to win the game, 3-2, over Neumann College Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.
Rachel DiCiccio netted both goals for Neumann (3-9). Natalie Stone scored two goals and notched an assist for Swarthmore (5-6). Jordan Haviland made three saves in net for the Knights. Gina Grubb made six stops for the Garnet.
Swarthmore opened the scoring ten minutes into the contest. Neumann answered when DiCiccio scored her first of two goals on the afternoon at the 14:59 mark.
DiCiccio put the Knights head 2-1 midway through the second half off an assist from Lauren Hood. The Garnet responded as Stone scored her second goal of the contest to tie the game at two. With time winding down, Sophia Ferguson knocked the ball in with just 1:58 left in regulation.
Neumann will travel to Rosemont College on Saturday for a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up. The game is set to start at 11 a.m.
