ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team defeated Rosemont College, 5-1, Thursday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up. 

Melissa Hood netted a goal and an assist for the Knights. Callie Emel opened the scoring for Neumann just 3:10 into the game. Lauren Hood put the Knights up 2-0 four minutes later off a pass from her sister Melissa. Kate Murphy ended the first half by scoring to put Neumann up 3-0.

Krystalyn Christensen netted a goal, as did Melissa Hood in the second half to put the Knights up 5-0. Rosemont scored its only goal with just over five minutes left on the clock. 

Sarah Alphin made six saves in net for Neumann, which improves to 4-4 on the season and 3-0 in the conference. The Knights will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy next Wednesday for a CSAC game, which is slated to start at 7 p.m.
