COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's and women's track teams travelled to Ursinus College on Friday afternoon to compete in the Bow Tie Classic at the Floy Lewis Bakes Field House.
Neumann's top competitor on the day was
Drew Konieczny, who performed excellently in both the 800-meter run and mile run. The freshman standout placed second place in both events, finishing behind an unaffiliated runner in each contest. In the 800-meter run, Konieczny broke the two-minute barrier, finishing with a time of 1:57.99. In the mile run, the freshman recorded a time of 4:30.21.
The Knights also received outstanding performances on the women's side from
Courtney Humphreys and
Michaela Fletcher. Humphreys placed fifth in both the mile run (5:51.57) and 800-meter run (2:34.54), while Fletcher took home sixth place in the 60-meter dash (8.49) and seventh place in the 400-meter run (1:06.07).
Neumann will have the rest of the semester and month off before returning to action January 10
th when the team heads to the Armory in New York City for the Lions Indoor Invitational.
