COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Neumann University Indoor Track and Field team took a trip to Ursinus College to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Hakeem Hall took top honors in the Men's 60-meter unseeded competition, finishing up in 7.74 seconds.
Stephen Williams just missed the podium, finishing in 7.81 seconds. In the 60-meter race,
Darriel Jones put together a personal-best time of 7.49. In the 200,
Wyatt Boyer was the top Neumann finisher with a personal-best 23.59 second performance.
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs finished in 24.17 and Williams knocked down another personal best with a 26.57.
Boyer also had a strong 400-meter run with a 52.52 second jaunt. Harrison-Fobbs had a 55.14, Hall turned in his best with a 58.31, and
Tim Connell had a 58.77. Connell also competed in the 800 and finished with a time of 2:20.01. The team of Boyer, Harrison-Fobbs, Jones, and Hall grabbed a place in the top ten in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:38.60.
On the women's side,
Courtney Humphreys placed on the podium twice. In the 800-meter, she finished second with time of 2:24.81. Her mile time of 5:27.43 was good enough for third.
Katie Baier also competed in both disciplines with an 800 time of 3:05.07, and a mile time of 6:45.61.
Quinaya Barker also earned a third place finish, with a time of 9.22 seconds on the 60-meter unseeded competition.
In the 60,
Gianna Manley-Perez led all Neumann runners with a time of 8.93 seconds.
Janell Goldsmith had a time of 9.18, while
Djeneba Konake and
Neshaya Overton grabbed times of 9.37 and 9.56. Eight Knights competed in the 200, with
Kozette Quinn leading the way with a time of 28.36.
Aniyah Holmes had a 29.22 and Manley-Perez had a 30.29. Goldsmith,
Sahdahya Addy, Barker, Overton, and Konake rounded the Neumann sprinters with times of 30.43, 30.79, 31.14, 31.62, and 31.81, respectively.
In the 400-meter race, Quinn had the best Neumann time at 1:06.40.
Kyleigh Joniec followed with a 1:13.74, neck-and-neck with Addy, who had a 1:13.86. Konake finished with a time of 1:17.43. The Knights put together two 4x200 relay team as Holmes, Quinn, Manley-Perez, and Goldsmith finished in the top five with a time of 2:00.17. Not too far off was the squad consisting of Addy, Konake, Joniec, and Overton with a time of 2:04.38.
In the throwing events,
Allison Siravo hurled the shot put a distance of 9.30 meters.
Jaylah Flamer finished with a 7.79 and
Sydney Wilson had a 7.53. In the weight throw, Siravo turned in a distance of 10.85 meters and Wilson had a throw of 8.61.
Neumann will be back in action on Friday, February 23
rd, as they close out the indoor season at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet in Staten Island in New York.
