Staten Island, N.Y. – The Neumann University Track and Field team headed to Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. to compete at the FastTrack Last Chance Meet on Friday afternoon.
The best result of the day was put together by
Kozette Quinn in the 60-meter race, finishing fifth with a personal best time of 8.47 seconds.
Janell Goldsmith had a time of 8.70 and Gianna Manly-Perez had a personal best of 8.75.
Sahdahya Addy and
Djeneba Konake rounded out the Knights runners with times of 8.78 and 9.13.
In the 200, Quinn grabbed another personal best with a finish of 28.10 seconds. Goldsmith had a 29.36 and Manly-Perez had a 29.57 for her best of the season.
Neshaya Overton was right behind, finishing in a personal best 30.81, and Konake had a 31.02.
Aniyah Holmes led all Neumann runners in the 400-meter, finishing in 1:07.49.
Kyleigh Joniec had her best time with a 1:09.74.
Quinaya Barker finished in 1:15.78, and Konake had a 1:16.22.
Courtney Humphrey closed out her final indoor season by breaking another record. She finished the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.52, which is the fastest in program history, indoors and outdoors.
Katie Baier finished the race with a time of 2:49.50. The only relay involving Neumann runners was the 4x400-meter in which Joniec, Overton, Barker, and Addy, had a time of 4:49.84, the fastest time in that discipline this season.
In the shot put,
Allison Siravo hurled it 9.54 meters while
Sydney Wilson had an 8.24. Siravo and Wilson also competed in the weight throw, achieving throws of 10.82 and 8.46, respectively.
Personal bests fell on the men's side as well, starting with
Darriel Jones 7.42 second performance in the 60-meter.
Wyatt Boyer followed right behind with a 7.43.
Nahshon Harrison-Fobbs and
Hakeem Hall also competed with times of 7.43 and 7.81.
All four Knights in the 200 picked up their best times as Boyer led with a 22.99. Harrison-Fobbs and Jones had 23.73 and 23.99 seconds.
Stephen Williams was right there with a time of 25.07. The trend continued in the 400-meter as Boyer and Harrison-Fobbs had times of 51.57 and 53.54.
Carlos Wylde-Gladbach was the lone Neumann runner in the 500 and finished in 1:34.38. In the 800, Timothy Connell also went solo with a time of 2:11.92. To round things out, Hall took a leap of 5.80 meters in the long jump.
The improvement was apparent as every competitor pushed to the very end of the season. The outdoor season looms next with their schedule beginning on Saturday, March 25
th at the UC Outdoor Invite in Collegeville, Pa.
