LANCASTER, Pa. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their women's soccer postseason awards, and four Neumann University athletes were recognized.
Cara Cimo and
Julianna Hatt were named to the conference's First Team while
Anna Poehlmann and
Jordan Bard nabbed Second Team selections.
Cimo started all 19 games as a key member of the defensive corps. In over 1,700 minutes, she contributed two assists, took seven shots, placing five on goal. She helped spearhead the conference's third best defense, with a goals against average of 1.68.
Hatt had an impressive first year as a Knight, scoring a team-high eight goals with two assists for 18 points. She played in 17 games, starting 16. She took 40 shots, which led Neumann, with 13 shots on goal. The Coatesville, Pa. native picked up two Atlantic East Player of the Week selections.
Poehlmann played in 12 games and started 10 as she led the Knights with 19 shots on goal on a total of 31 shots. She scored four goals with two assists for 10 points. She 1.58 shots on goal per game was sixth in the Atlantic East. Back on October 28
th, the junior was named to the Atlantic East weekly Honor Roll.
Bard played in all 19 games and started all but one. As a defender, she logged over 1,400 minutes, combining with Cimo to form a formidable back line. She added two shots with one on goal. This is her second consecutive Atlantic East Second Team selection.
Neumann advanced to the Atlantic East Semifinals after a regular season record of 7-9-3 and a conference record of 3-1-2.
